Polk State Visual Arts is led by faculty members who have decades of professional educational experience, and who encourage students to not only develop and diversify their artistic skills but to also explore and pursue arts-related careers.
The department’s Associate of Arts degree with a Visual Art Pathway allows students to receive a two-year degree concentrating on Visual Art. This degree pathway prepares students to transfer to bachelor’s degrees including but not limited to Studio Art, Ceramics, Painting, Art Education, Photography, Graphic Design, Animation, and more. Students study a wide range of artistic expressions, from fundamentals of design and drawing to advanced levels of studio art and photography. Our Winter Haven Facilities boast sprawling studio spaces and a state-of-the-art photography lab.
Students are also afforded numerous opportunities to showcase their work and participate in competitions. The College itself regularly hosts student art shows, and faculty members support students in entering competitions outside the College as well.
